The Kangaroo Costume...

Where do I begin? With a photo like this, the jumping off point could be just about anywhere. This costume has seen its share of wear, to say the very least. My little Christian and I were cleaning his room the other day and low and behold it surfaced again. I said to him, "Hey buddy, think it's time to retire this thing?" With a VERY serious look he considered then answered, "I think so, but can I just put it on one more time?" Of course!! We get the thing on, which by now is about a size too small and he asks me to take a picture of him in it so he can remember it after it's gone. This is probably one of my favorite photos of Christian because it's just so... so.... HIM! Fully smartass, fully hilarious, my sweet little boy. I get one thumbs up and he peels the thing off and puts it in the donate box.

I'm a lucky momma with three wonderful kids. I hope they are never too "cool" to kiss me in front of their friends or hold my hand or cuddle with me. They are growing up too fast, which makes me happy and proud and sad all at the same time. Cherish every moment, they just to by way way way too quickly.

Enchanted Postcards From Paris

There is nothing better than going to the mailbox to find your new order of supplies has arrived!! I must have checked the mailbox 20 times yesterday. I have to laugh at myself. It's like Christmas when supplies arrive. I've been working on some new pieces this morning and thought I'd post one here.

I love how detailed the postcard is and the lovely message. This brings a little piece of Paris right into my office. I've listed a lot of new items, so please check them out on Etsy.

As a bonus, I'm kiddo free today and have the house all to myself. I'm loving the peace and quiet. I'm feeling creative and inspired.

The Love Story...

The other day, I was sitting at my desk working on some jewelry and I kept hearing this peep, peep, peep. I walked outside, thinking there was a bird on the patio and was immediately dive bombed by two mockingbirds. I looked up and saw the CUTEST little mockingbird hopping its way across the grass. Clearly the parents were worried that I was going to hurt their baby and were prepared to defend her.

I know this feeling. The feeling of doing anything and everything to protect someone you love. I rushed back into the house to get my camera to take a couple of photos. When I came back outside, she had hopped her way up onto one of our fountains. When I stepped closer the parents had a mini freak out, so I said (out loud, like a dork), "I'm not going to hurt her, I'm a momma too." Strangely enough the parents settled down and I was able to take a few photos.

She's just the cutest thing ever. All my kids are so excited to have her hopping around the backyard. She's constantly practicing spreading her wings and is taking little "hop-flights" when she gets the courage. The moment the kids get home from school they ask, "Did you see her today, is she still in the backyard? Is she bigger? Is she flying?" Then, they race outside to find her. I love that they appreciate nature and how lucky we are to have this little life to see.

I can hear the little mockingbird outside right now, even as I type. It's comforting, but I know she'll fly away soon and start her own family.

New Look!

I'm trying out a new look for my blog. I'm also going to attempt (notice I say "attempt" ha!) to blog more often and update with new designs and business news. Please bear with me as I do some housekeeping with my blog. This is all new to me and though I've blogged a time or two, it's still very confusing. :)

A huge shout out to my friend Allison ( I love you girlie!) for making all the graphics for my Etsy site. She is the most talented, amazing, sweet and wonderful friend. I am very grateful for her creativity and the ability to translate my vision into a true work of art. The photo above is one of her beautiful creations.

I want to say a very big thank you to
Itkupilli for the gorgeous background template. Thank you!!

Wish me luck!

Enchanted Cinderella's Dressmaker Necklace

This enchanted necklace features a sparrow carrying scissors attached to a bow. This piece reminds me of the movie Cinderella when the birds and mice create her beautiful ball gown.

Very heirloom.
